January 19, 2015

Man Packer is a religion here! We heard the game was super intense. We got updates on the score from a few investigators and ward members and all the bus drivers seemed to know the score which is terrifying if you think about it. At one point our bus driver had rolled down her window and shouted at the other driver, "WHAAT!" Apparently that was when they all somehow received the update they had gone into overtime. A kind Jewish man with a smart phone let us into the loop. Ha it was cool though, this whole week the bus routes would flash on the dash and say "Go Pack Go!" After they lost, we quickly changed our plan from tracting to bus contacting and seeing less actives because no one really seemed in the mood for talking much after. Ha we should have really started sharing the Plan of Salvation in the context of it's okay when your team dies.

In other news, our Zone has declared this a "Finding Week" meaning we've been asked to get 500 other lessons as a zone. Because we are in a bus area and can contact more easily, we've been challenged to teach 50 others which is doable, but also intense so pray for us that we can find the courage to talk to literally everyone. We can do it! Think of all the potential that would create. And all the great stories for next week because we all know we are bound to meet some crazies.

Speaking of crazy, sacrament meeting was over the top awesome this week. No talk of crickets, just awesomely great doctrine on goal setting, enduring to the end and prioritizing. There was talk of Ninjas, marathons, and companionship inventory and it was magical. The kind of meeting that makes you want to get up and happy dance all the way home.

Speaking of happy dance, I got to demonstrate that a few times whilst cheering for my favorite elderly crew at the Lutheran home during our bowling activity. We have to go by our first names there for legal reasons so my favorite lady named Faith always yell "Dance Kaytie!" when she's up, so I do a little jig and they all clap for me. It's the little things you know. We also had to help a man named George find his teeth after they had fallen out so that was exciting. #missionprob

We had interviews with our President this week and that was really fun. I do believe you are very much called to a President as much as you are to a mission. We talked a lot about repentance and how it is the mystery of how we can access the Atonement. I think I've said this before, but the gospel blows my mind in it's simplicity and how deeply it can affect us. If there's anything I've learned, it's that I need my Saviour, but more importantly I have unlimited access to that need. Win!

Wisconsin really likes pets. A very odd amount. We bought these chocolate dipped oreos that naturally are decorated with dogs. They tasted great and you could buy them right next to the Pet Sympathy cards. Who says you can't find productive ways to spend your time when you have 30 minutes to the next bus and no one to teach, but a chocolate shop to explore!

Sorry this is upside down but this is us celebrating Sister Pope and Sister Packers one year month mark. We had that cilantro dip I love so all are happy.
